Yesterday SM Car Keys attended an emergency callout where customers needed a spare car key after their original key became badly damaged and stopped working. They were travelling through the area and still had a long journey ahead, so getting the issue solved quickly was very important.
When we arrived, the original key was in extremely poor condition. The casing had broken apart, the transponder chip had been lost, and the vehicle would no longer start. To make matters worse, the customers explained that the remote locking buttons on the key had never worked properly.
After inspecting the key, we carried out a full repair of the damaged original key and successfully restored it. We then programmed a brand new spare key for the vehicle as well. Once everything was completed, both keys were fully functional and both remote controls were working correctly.
